“ACORN has a demonstrated long history of fraud, corruption, and potential criminal activity, yet they have been allowed to continue living off the taxpayers’ dime because of their strong support from Democrats in charge of Congress,” said Congressman Price. “Long before the latest revelations, House Republicans made repeated attempts to prevent ACORN from receiving federal funding. Yet, Democrats thwarted our efforts and the will of the American people. The Senate’s decision to strip funding for ACORN from one bill is encouraging, but this work is not complete until all federal funds to this and other corrupt community organizations are halted. So far, the silence from Democrat leadership is deafening. Will President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and their allies continue to look the other way while millions of dollars get funneled to this crooked organization? The American people are waiting for an answer.”
