Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after Democrats pushed through a sham PAYGO bill that is riddled with loopholes and exemptions.

“When it comes to fiscal irresponsibility, this Congress is second to none,” said Congressman Price. “Rather than making the tough decisions that need to be made, House Democrats have passed a fraudulent version of PAYGO that won’t do a thing to stop their unsustainable deficits. This PAYGO sham has loopholes a trillion dollars wide. This farce includes scores of exemptions for favored programs and actually excludes all discretionary spending, which makes up forty percent of the federal budget.

“It’s regrettable that the majority did not embrace the Republican alternative which would have truly capped runway spending in Washington. Americans want real dedication to responsible budgeting in Washington. Charades like this won’t cut it.”
